Lonnie was raised in the community of Hesston, Kansas, and graduated from Whitworth College with degrees in History and Religious Studies.  He attended San Francisco Theological Seminary and the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California and graduated with a Masters of Divinity in 1987.  For the next 16 years he worked in theological education for San Francisco Theological Seminary.  In 2003, Lonnie returned to his native Kansas and completed the Clinical Pastoral Education program at Wesley Medical Center.  In his work he provided pastoral care to patients and families facing the stresses of hospitalization.  His primary focus was the intensive care units for children and infants.  As the chaplain at Faith Home Health and Hospice, Lonnie brings his compassion and care to those facing end of life issues.  Away from work, Lonnie is an avid pilot and videographer and he enjoys backpacking in the mountains.
